# Usama Kelani Developer Portal

> Integrate the public portfolio with a read-only JSON API, OpenAPI tools, Markdown, and an official CLI.

## When to use this API

Use this API to read Usama Kelani’s engineering profile, find published project summaries, and retrieve engineering case studies for recruiting, technical evaluation, or a cited professional introduction. The API describes public portfolio content; client software and private homelab controls are outside its scope.

Start with GET /api for discovery or import /openapi.json into your OpenAPI or LLM tooling. Every operation has a unique operationId, a description, and typed responses. Read the content dates before describing a credential or infrastructure snapshot as current.

## Quickstart and API keys

Public GET and HEAD requests require no API key and do not create an account. There is no key issuance portal. The existing POST /api/homelab route is only for the site operator’s authenticated publisher; its bearer credential is never issued to visitors.

Fetch JSON directly, or request Accept: text/markdown on the homepage, docs, and trust pages. HTML remains available with Accept: text/html. API routes always return JSON, including failures.

```sh
curl -sS https://usamakelani.com/api/v1/profile
curl -sS https://usamakelani.com/api/v1/case-studies/ordex
curl -sS -H 'Accept: text/markdown' https://usamakelani.com/
```

## Sandbox

GET /api/v1/sandbox/profile returns a fixed Example Engineer profile with the same schema as the profile endpoint. Use it to test parsing without reading changing portfolio data. The sandbox is read-only, needs no credential, and cannot publish telemetry or contact anyone.

```sh
curl -sS https://usamakelani.com/api/v1/sandbox/profile
```

## Official CLI

The usamakelani CLI runs on Node.js 22 or later. Install the downloadable npm package below, then run usamakelani profile, projects, case-studies, case-study ordex, sandbox, or markdown. Commands write the API response to stdout and exit with a nonzero status on errors. Registry publication is pending a package-owner account.

```sh
npm install -g https://usamakelani.com/downloads/usamakelani-portfolio-cli-1.0.0.tgz
usamakelani profile
usamakelani case-study ordex
```
